Warehouse Team Leader - Temp to Perm
Kettering, Northamptonshire
£15.38 per hour, (£32,000 per year)
The Best Connection are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Team Leader to join a well-established logistics and distribution operation in Kettering. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with an immediate start and excellent long-term prospects for the right candidate.
About the Role
Warehouse Team Leader - Main duties and requirements are:
Leading and supervising the warehouse team on a daily basis
Working closely with the Shift Manager to ensure the smooth running of the warehouse operation
Working hands-on on the shop floor, leading by example and supporting the warehouse team
Loading and unloading tyres, ensuring goods are handled safely and efficiently
Organising and allocating staff and resources to meet daily operational requirements
Monitoring team productivity and ensuring KPIs and performance targets are achieved
Communicating daily targets, instructions and operational updates to the warehouse team
Supporting the induction, training and development of new and existing employees
Ensuring all warehouse processes are followed correctly and safely
Maintaining high standards of health and safety, including manual handling and PPE requirements
Ensuring freight is sorted, handled and stored correctly to minimise damage and discrepancies
Reporting any damaged freight, operational issues or safety concerns to management
Maintaining a clean, secure and organised warehouse environment
Supporting the team to deliver a high level of customer service
Helping to resolve day-to-day operational issues and supporting the Shift Manager where required
Promoting good teamwork, communication and a positive working environment

What We're Looking For
Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics or distribution environment
Previous experience supervising or leading a warehouse team is preferred
Strong understanding of warehouse operations and safe working practices
Comfortable working hands-on on the shop floor
Experience with loading and unloading goods is essential
Physically fit and comfortable handling tyres
Good communication and organisational skills
Ability to motivate and lead a team
Experience working to KPIs and productivity targets
Strong focus on health and safety
Reliable, proactive and able to work well under pressure
A positive attitude and willingness to lead by example
