Matron – Harrow School An independent boarding school for boys aged 13 to 18.

Contract Summary Contract length: Fixed term for a duration of 5 years with the possibility of conversion to permanent at a later date.

Full‑time residential position, term time only.

Role The Matron role at Harrow School is of significant importance, having live‑in responsibility for the health and welfare of the boys and for the smooth running of the House’s domestic arrangements. Matrons play a key role in assisting the House Master in creating a happy and well‑ordered atmosphere throughout the House. Responsibilities include pastoral and health care for the boys, dress and hygiene standards, and managing the onsite housekeeping and the work of a team of cleaners. The role is open to both male and female candidates.

Required Skills Experience of working with young people, highly organised and caring, possessing common sense, resilience, flexibility, and effective communication with a wide range of people. Applicants must have a full driving licence and a private car for accompanying boys on hospital visits.
