Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. This role is essential for ensuring smooth daily operations within our restaurant or hotel setting. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and eager to contribute to a high standard of hospitality service. Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is advantageous but not mandatory, as training will be provided. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within the hospitality industry and develop your culinary skills.


Responsibilities



Wash and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are met
Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen team
Support the organisation and storage of ingredients and supplies
Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas throughout the shift
Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed
Help with stock replenishment and inventory checks when required
Follow health and safety regulations at all times to maintain a safe working environment

Experience



Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality environments such as restaurants, hotels, or catering services is desirable but not essential
Familiarity with kitchen hygiene standards and basic culinary practices is advantageous
Experience serving customers or working in a fast-paced hospitality setting can be beneficial
A positive attitude towards teamwork and willingness to learn new skills are highly valued
