Advanced Clinical Practitioner Urgent and Primary Care ACP

Locums First is looking for an Advanced Clinical Practitioner to work for a GP practice in Cheltenham. This role is ideal for an ACP who enjoys a balanced mix of urgent care, routine appointments and structured primary care delivery.


You will operate within a supportive multidisciplinary framework, delivering timely clinical decisions and high-quality patient assessments. The practice provides consistent session planning, clear workflows and strong clinical governance to allow you to focus on patient care.


Key Responsibilities



Managing urgent and same-day ACP appointments
Assessing, diagnosing and treating acute and routine presentations
Providing clinical triage and on-the-day demand support
Prescribing and medication management where qualified
Reviewing and actioning results and investigations
Initiating referrals and escalation where appropriate
Maintaining compliant and accurate clinical records

Requirements



Advanced Clinical Practitioner qualification at Level 7
Independent Prescribing qualification (V300 or equivalent) desirable
Previous experience in primary care, urgent care or emergency environments
Strong clinical judgement and patient-centred approach
Confidence working independently within clinic
Enhanced DBS and up-to-date mandatory training

Working Pattern



Flexible ad-hoc or regular sessions
Full or half-day clinics available
Short-term and long-term placements offered
